Emily Malamet BPsy Hons, MCP

I am an American psychologist who calls the city of Paris home. I have a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Marymount Manhattan College in New York, where I graduated with Honors, and a Masters of Clinical Psychology from the University of Paris.

My professional experience includes both hospitals and clinics, including the Beaujon Hospital and Paul Brousse Hospital in Paris.

My goal in therapy is to create an open, friendly space where people can feel truly understood and work collaboratively on their problems. I specialise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is the gold-standard treatment for the most common mental disorders such as anxiety and depression. I also draw on techniques from mindfulness  and attachment-based therapy.

My aim is always to provide the most effective therapy possible, helping the people I work with to lead happier, healthier lives. Problems I regularly treat include:

  • Anxiety and Worry

  • Depression

  • Self-Esteem Issues

  • Perfectionism

  • Isolation and Loneliness

  • Productivity Issues

  • Work and Study Stress

  • Relationship Problems

  • Child and Family Issues

  • Life Crises

  • Difficulties Living as an Expat

Before beginning my journey as a clinical psychologist, I worked as a professional ballet dancer. This gave me first-hand experience of the importance of connecting the mind and the body, and being in touch with what makes you feel fulfilled and happy. Throughout this process, I became increasingly interested in helping people connect with what makes them feel most alive and fulfilled. This took me down the path of helping people through psychology, which has, in turn, become my true passion in life.

Whatever you are currently experiencing, it would be a privilege for me to guide you through it, to help you see things from another perspective, and to achieve emotional balance, well-being, and happiness in your life.

And if you have any questions at all, I'd love to hear from you at emily@parispsychologycentre.com
