Emily Malamet BPsy Hons, MCP
I am an American trainee clinical psychologist living in Paris. My professional experience includes both hospitals and clinics, including working in child psychiatry at a Medico-Psychological Center (CMP), and with adults at Beaujon Hospital in Paris. I am also currently working at the transcultural unit at Saint Anne Hospital, where I help children, adolescents and families with the difficulties of adjusting to a new life in France.
In my work as a therapist, my goal is to create a warm and friendly space, where people can feel understood on a deep level. My training and approaches include Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based techniques, and attachment-based therapy. The techniques I use are tailored to whatever the person needs and is struggling with. My

aim is always to provide the most effective therapy possible, allowing the people I work with to lead happier, healthier lives.
I have a Bachelor’s degree with a major in psychology from Marymount Manhattan College in New York, where I graduated with Honors, and I am currently in the final year of a Masters of Clinical Psychology at the University of Paris.
Before beginning my journey as a clinical psychologist, I worked as a professional ballet dancer. This gave me first-hand experience of the importance of connecting the mind and the body, and being in touch with what makes you feel fulfilled and happy. Throughout this process, I became increasingly interested in helping people connect with what makes them feel most alive and fulfilled. This took me down the path of helping people through psychology – which has, in turn, become my passion in life.
Problems I have experience treating include:
-
Anxiety and Worry
-
Depression
-
Perfectionism
-
Self-Esteem Issues
-

-

-

Whatever you are currently experiencing, it would be a privilege for me to guide you through it, to help you see things from another perspective, and to achieve emotional balance, well-being, and happiness in your life.
