Dr Dennis Roberts
CPsychol AFBPsS FRSM FRSPH
I’m an American clinical psychologist based in Paris, where I help people in the English-speaking community improve their mental health. I'm passionate about empowering my patients to achieve real change – to lead happier, more balanced lives.

I have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Seattle, and am licensed as a psychologist in five states in the US. I'm registered as a psychologist in the UK (HCPC) and am a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychology Society. I’ve worked in a number of mental health settings, including clinics, hospitals and private practice. I've also taught undergraduate and graduate courses in psychology and health sciences in the US.
I see people with a wide range of problems, including depression, anxiety and stress, insomnia, chronic pain. Whatever the issue, I aim to form a relationship of trust with my patients, bring clarity to their problems and share healthy coping skills that genuinely work. I am committed to evidence-based practice, which means that I only use methods that have been validated by researchers as being effective. This is my way of ensuring I can give people the best support available.

I am trained in several well-researched psychological therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). While each of these treatments is powerful on its own, I take an integrative approach. Every person is unique, and therapy works best when it is tailored to the needs of the individual.

I work only with adults, and my areas of special interest include:

-
Depression
-
Anxiety
-
Stress
-
Insomnia
-
Medical Fears and Coping with Medical Diagnoses
-
Chronic Pain
-

Regardless of what the problem is, I aim to create a safe place of compassion and non-judgement, where people can share their problems and be heard. I also believe in getting to know each person deeply, as an important way of gaining insight into how best to help them.

I take great pleasure in seeing the people I work with gain a better quality of life, emotional stability and improved daily functioning. I look forward to meeting you and exploring this process together.
